The Traveler’s Peek
Who We Are
The Nightside Nexus is a network of both organizations & individuals who are dedicated to the preservation of nightside culture & community.
Born through the flame from the ashes of what once was. Like a phoenix rising, the Nightside Nexus burst into this world during the Full Moon of Bealtaine 2026. A continuation of many years work, we are the evolution of The Vampyre Coven.
We are dedicated to empowered vampyric practice & expression. Our members are the respectful and responsible inhabitants of the Vampyre Community who dedicate themselves to their journey of self mastery. We are a hybrid online & in person VC network on a mission to maintain a positive outlet for real vampyres & vampyre witches to convene in a sane, practical, and experience driven environment.
As a Nexus, our assemblage fosters Community. We host a real community, both online & off, where values matter. Where our philosophy isn’t just a series of cute catch-phrases, but the standards we live by and hold our members accountable by. We work together, learn together, grow together, travel & gather together. We protect our community by not harboring folks who poison the energy of the space. We don’t welcome “all”. We welcome community oriented positive influences and avid learners & mentors who bring something to the table.
Our Archival & Resources Mission
The Vampyre Community has been around for decades, with roots tracing back to the 1960s and 1970s. As with any community, there are those who wish to preserve the knowledge and history of the Vampyre Subculture for future generations. It is with this goal in mind that we here at the Nightside Nexus have set out on a mission to present as much information as we can on this site as a reference guide.
One of the challenges of preserving the history of the Vampyre Community is that much of it has been transmitted orally or through informal channels, such as online forums and mailing lists. While this has allowed for a great deal of creativity and diversity within the community, it also means that information can and has been lost or distorted over time. As older members of the community pass away or lose touch others, their knowledge and experiences risk being lost forever.
To address this challenge, The Council of the Nightside Nexus has set out on a mission to archive as much information as possible on this website as a living reference and homage to times since passed and a show of devotion to seeing a better future. Through continued research cycling through publications, online archives, and the personal experiences of those who were there, we intend to house as much information for vampyres of any skill level to benefit from.
One of the benefits of this archival work is that it allows for a more nuanced understanding of the Vampyre Community’s history and evolution. By examining the documents and experiences of founding generations of the community, we can gain insights into how the community has changed over time, as well as the social and cultural factors that have shaped it. By recording the memories and experiences of legacy members of the community, we can ensure that their contributions are not forgotten and that future generations have access to their wisdom.
Of course, there are challenges to this work as well. Not all members of the community may be willing or able to participate in this archival work, and some may have concerns about the privacy and confidentiality of their experiences. Additionally, the sheer volume of information that needs to be collected is absolutely daunting, and the process of organizing and cataloging this information is a significant undertaking.
Despite these challenges, we believe that the work of archiving information from previous generations of the Vampyre community is essential. This archival work is an investment into the future of the Vampyre community… and a recognition of the importance of preserving our collective history and knowledge for generations to come.
